This question has come up a few times lately, and so I thought a quick post was in order.

If you’d like to move your existing Mastodon Account to the Apobangpo Server, follow the steps below:

Before we start, PLEASE NOTE: At the moment, migration DOES NOT include moving your posts, lists and bookmarks. So you should download an archive of those if you would like to keep them. You can do so via Preferences > Import and Export.

Step 1: Read the Apobangpo Community Charter, so you know about the agreed rules of our community.

Step 2: Go to https://apobangpo.space/explore and Click on the Signup button to create an account.

Step 3: When your account is approved, login to Apobangpo and go to Preferences > Account

Step 4: At the bottom of the Account page on Apobangpo, choose ‘Moving FROM Another Account‘ and enter your old account name – eg. name@oldserver.com. Click ‘Create Alias’ to create a space for your old account. This process can take a few minutes to complete, so go watch a BTS MV while you wait!

Step 5: On your OLD server: Login and go to Preferences > Account.

Step 6: At the bottom of the Account page on your old server, choose Moving TO Another Account.

Step 7: Enter your new Apobangpo account name – eg. BangtanOskar@apobangpo.space  and submit. This step will start moving your followers to the new account.

Step 8: To ensure you don’t lose your lists or follows, you can use data exported from your old account to Import them.  Go to Preferences > Import and Export on your old account and download the CSV files for Follows and  List (if you’re using them). You can then go to Preferences > Import and Export on your Apobangpo Account and use the Import tools to upload your CSV files to your new account.
